The Ladies Championship between Betty Dixon and Nancy Hawthorn was played on Friday 26th July at Gourock Park in rather overcast conditions with quite a few spectators looking on. The early stages of the game saw Betty scoring with a single and a double to take an early lead. Nancy fought back however to level the score and they were still level after 7 ends at seven points each. The Players were once again peeled at nine each, when a light shower of rain seemed to change the speed of the green. Betty took full advantage of this and took the title with some excellent bowling to win by 21 shots to 9. So for the second year running we have another new name on the Trophy.
