Welcome to Gourock Park Bowling Club Online. Formed in March of 2000, initially as a harmless hobby, this Site has grown from just a few pages in those early days to a vast archive of images, news and results from not just our own Club, but also bowling in general from the Inverclyde area. I still run it as a hobby, but these days its more like a second occupation.
As the site expands, so does the need for easy navigation and so I have tried to make sure that no matter where you are within the site, you can always find your way around as simple and smoothly as possible. Features to help with this include- indexes for each year, where you can view the events of that year simply by following the 'next & back' icons, or by clicking on each individual link in turn. On each page there will be a 'Club Badge' on the top left corner, clicking on this will take you back to the main index page of whatever the 'current year' is, and also by clicking on the 'Home' icon at the bottom of each page, will take you back to the index of the year you are viewing. Most external links and some internal, will open in a new 'window'.
Gourock Park Bowling Club was formed way back in 1927 and in Season 2003, it celebrated the 75th year of
play. Situated within the grounds of Gourock's Darroch Park, which overlooks the River Clyde on Scotland's West Coast. Play commences each year around April and continues through til late September. Consisting of both Ladies and Gents, the club competes for honours in the following Associations-- Greenock & District, Renfrewshire and Scottish Bowling B.A.
We have two full size greens, which provide the 'outdoor bowler' with every challenge possible including playing under a cloud of the infamous Scottish Midgie! The Greens are kept in great condition by the sterling efforts of Greenkeeper, Ian Brown.
The Site is updated on a daily basis from around April till October. I hope you will join us thoughout Season 2011
Thank you for visiting Gourock Park
