Robin Kyle of Victoria BC is the new President of The Renfrewshire Bowling Association 13th Feb 2001 The Greens at Gourock Park will open on the 7th April |
League Re-Construction????? League Re-construction is to be discussed yet again at the AGM of The Greenock & District in Feb 2001. This has been caused I believe by the reduced number of Clubs competing in the leagues for the coming Season. This Site ran a Poll of the possible options for any new set-up and the results are as follows The Question was Pick the Option that you think The G&D should use for The Leagues for Season 2001? Status Quo 36% One League of 15 Teams 16% Change to a Triples League 16% Revert Back to the old 2 League Format with a Play-off 32% As you can see the vote was close between leaving things as they are and of a return to the old Set-up! Personally I like the present set-up and hope it remains the same,we shall wait and see what the outcome is after the G&D AGM. Change of Date for The Davidson Pairs This year The Davidson Pairs Trophy will be played on Sat 28th July @Gourock Park. Details of Entry Fees and Entrance Forms will be announced nearer the time. 6th Feb 2001 Scottish Bowling Association (District 23) This Site will shortly be able to give you up to date info,news and results direct from The District Secretary! Championship Results from around Inverclyde Starting this year,I will endeavour to include The Gents Championship results from some of the other Bowling Clubs in The Greenock& District Area! 31st Jan 2001. I always feel that the New Season is getting that little bit closer when I start to see "The AGM Notices" appearing in The Greenock Telegraph . The AGM's at each Club is when all the Club issues need to be suggested,argued over,voted on,things like Committee's have to be selected,Selection Committee needs to be changed,New Presidents& Vice Presidents elected, Club Fees are argued over etc etc. I am sure you all know what I mean. Anyway !! Gourock Park's AGM is to be held on Thursday the 1st Feb at The Clubhouse. Gary Bradley |
