24th Feb 2002 It has come to my attention that this site does not appear as it should on some visitors Internet explorer. This can be solved if you go to "Tools" in your explorer and selecting "Internet options" and then "accessiblity" In here you will see a list of four options! Please make sure that all four options are not ticked! Also on some older versions of Internet explorer there is an option to select "large fonts" this will also interfere with the correct intended viewing of this site! If anyone has any problems viewing this site please get in touch with me. Carol who runs www.Portglasgow4u.co.uk has recently added a very good article on her site about the history of Port Glasgow BC. You will find it within the "Social History section" I have started a new section regarding the history of bowling and I will add to this as often as i can over the coming season, i think you will find it interesting! The Web Guide which is currently at the bottom of the main contents page will soon be moved to a seperate page, which means I will be able to include lots more links that I think will be of interest to visitors to this site. 14th Feb 2002 The Final of the Inverclyde Indoor Singles final is between Alan Mc Ewan and Ian Broadfoot and not as I earlier stated, Sandy Wotherspoon. The results in the semi-finals were as follows- Ian Broadfoot 21 Sandy Wotherspoon 20 Alan McEwan 21 Alan Bradley 16. 13th Feb 2002 Congratulations to Gourock Park's Past President Dougie Brown on gaining a Scottish Bowling Umpires Certificate. 7th Feb 2002 Ian Brown has become President of Gourock Park following the Club's Annual general meeting within the Clubhouse. My congratulations to Ian and I wish him a successful year in office. Hamish Ramsay will be Ian's Vice-President and will also keep on his roll as Secretary. The Selection Committe for this Season are as follows- Terry Duffy,Archie Forbes, John Hagen and Rodger Lynn The Executive Committee are as follows-Gary Bradley, Dougie Brown, Jim Crawford, Peter Hendry, Kenny Mc Kinlay and Arthur Rennie. The Greens will open for play on Saturday the 6th of April. This Site was designed to work best using a screen resolution set at 800 x 600 and it will display best at these settings, viewing in any other setting will put all the pages out of proportion. The Message Board!!!! I have changed the settings on the Message Board! From now on if you want to use this board you have to register. Registration is quick and easy! , all you have to do is pick a user name and password along with a few other details and thats it! Anyone can join this "board" and it can be as anonymous as you like it to be, in other words, you dont have to reveal your true identity! This board is the perfect place to discuss just about anything you feel like, bowling related or not! 2nd Feb 2002 Site re-construction is now well underway and this will continue until the start of the new Season in April. Last night at the Indoor, i started to hand out "Player Profile" forms and I hope that many of the local players will take the time to fill them in? These forms will give site visitors some light entertainment, well going by the replies i have received so far, they certainly will be!! I was asked if it was possible to fill these forms online? I will be looking into this. In the meantime if any local players would like to participate, please get in touch. The Inverclyde Indoor league results can now be found on the Internet, the link is on the main page of this site. 31st Jan 2002 The A.G.M of Gourock Park will be held in the Clubhouse on 7th February at 7pm. If you would like any information regarding your Club posted here? Then please get in touch either by e-mailing me or telephone me at 07949 683164. Site re-construction is now well underway and i hope you will be pleased with the end result.I hope to complete this work in time for the new season which starts in April.However until this work is done , there will be links that don't work, missing pages and probably many layout changes. I hope to cover as much as I did last season, but with your help I can develop the site further.Last year I was able to bring you results from I.B.M , Grosvenor and Lady Alice Bowling Club's Championships thanks to Jimmy Bradley, John Freeburn & Graham Paterick and I would like to expand this by covering two more.
