28th March IBM Bowling Club member, Jimmy Bradley won the Inverclyde indoor senior singles today. He defeated Tom Dunn of Fort Matilda by 21 shots to 13 with a fine display of both drawing and weighted shots.

22nd March I now have the full League fixtures and they will appear on the site within the next few days, also i have the Gourock Park fixture list, which again will be added soon.
The Final of The National Seniors Indoor Singles will take place at 10 am on Thursday the 28th of March. The Finalists are Jimmy Bradley (My Dad) versus Tom Dunn. The Final of the National Fours takes place on the 23rd and hopefully I will make it along to take some pics.
20th March Seems I have upset some people at Inverclyde Indoor after reporting on what I saw as "news". I did not put this news on the site to embarrass any individuals or indeed the Club, I simply felt that what i read on the notice boards was worthy of a mention on these pages. As it was on the Notice boards at the Club where anyone could read them I did not realise that it would upset some people and for that I apologise. However I stand by my decision to place this news on the site and know that I will have to face some Committee at the Club. This could have been diffused if any of the offended parties had contacted me and asked me to take it off, which i would have been happy to do. But instead of doing this, they have summoned me to a meeting to discuss the matter!. To be continued!!!!!!
9th March The opening day of Season 2002 at Gourock Park has been put back by one week to the 13th April, i assume the current bad spell of weather is the major factor in this decision.
Trouble Brewing?
It seems there is some disharmony among the Lady members at the Inverclyde Indoor Bowling Club, posted on the notice-board at the Club are the resignation letters of their President, Ina Gray, Vice-President, Joan Hutchison and Secretary,Jean Galbreath. I am not aware of the reasons for these resignations, but its clear that there has been a major disagreement in the ladies ranks.
I thought long and hard about whether to put the above report on the site!, but i feel that as the resignations were on display on the notice-board at the Club, and therefore open for all to see, i have decided that its "News" and that there is no reason for me not reporting this news. I hope that whatever has caused this issue can be resolved as soon as possible. Gary Bradley
New Champion Ian Broadfoot has won the Inverclyde Singles Championship, defeating Allan Mc Ewan by 21 shots to 14 in an excellent close fought game at Inverclyde Indoor. I was going to go to the Final to do a report and take pictures of this game, but unfortunatley my loyalties were split between this and going to Cappielow, to watch my beloved Morton, and standing in the "shed" cheering on "The Ton" in their desperate bid to avoid relegation. Sorry lads! but Cappielow just edged you out!
"Alan Scoops his first major win of the Season" Inverclyde Indoor Club Manager and Grosvenor BC Member, Alan Bradley has won "The Greenock Telegraph"'s weekly competition for spotting "Scoop the dog" in a previous friday edition of the paper! Alan won £25 for this efforts and i refuse to believe those that have said that this will be the only thing Alan wins this coming Season!!!! |
