Stamping of Bowls
The following are examples of the only stamp imprints which are recognised for all domestic play
in S.B.A. competitions (Numerals may vary). In Scotland, all stamps must have a legible imprint date of 1994 or later.

The New Season of Bowling got underway at IBM Bowling Club today as the Club officially opened the greens for play. Club President, Joe O Donnell made the opening speech in front of invited guests from the Greenock & District, Renfrewshire, Scottish bowling associations and invited guests from kindred Clubs
After the first Jack and Bowl were expertly delivered by President O' Donnell's Wife, the Wapinshaw got underway with 5 triples matches which were all eagerly contested. However it was not an opening victory for President O' Donnell as his triples trio lost by seven shots to the overall winners on the day, Francis Robinson (Gourock), Gary Bradley (Gourock Park) and Skip Sam Blaikie of IBM.

For those of you who may be worried that those new shiny coloured bowls are going to be banned following my report here a few days ago, you can all relax, as it was my april fool story for this year. My aplogies if i caught any of you out.

The New Season gets underway this weekend with several Clubs opening their Greens for play.
I have been invited to represent Gourock Park at the opening day of IBM Bowling Club which takes place this Sunday and I am pleased to say that I will be able to attend.

Congratulations to Port Glasgow BC's Dougie Twaddle on winning the National Singles Final at Inverclyde Indoor Bowling Club. Dougie defeated Ian Broadfoot, last years winner to scoop the title.

The 75th Season at Gourock Park will gets underway on Friday 11th April, with a Dance at Gourock's Torpedo Factory Club. Anyone looking for tickets for this should contact Hamish asap as there may be a limited amount remaining, depending on cancellations etc.

The Opening of The Greens will take place at 2pm on Saturday 12th April and members of kindred Clubs are welcome to attend, weather permitting a Wapinshaw will be played.

The Refurbishment of the Clubhouse is now almost complete and thanks must go to all those involved with this, the main difference within the building has been the creation of a new gents changing room and also general improvements to the decor and appearance of the Club.
