IBM Bowling Club's Alex McDougal appeared Channel Four today as a contestant on 'fifteen to one'.  Alex did well and reached the last three and lost out on a question about Lundy Island.

Congratulations to Port Glasgow's Freddy Kimmins on winning the Club Championship for record
eight times.

Stephen McLellan of Wellington has won through to the final stages of the Barrs Irn Bru School of excellence, Stephen the current Junior Champion of  Inverclyde Indoor Club, won his three games in a round-robin tournament and will compete in the Finals which take place next april and will feature some of the best young bowlers in Scotland in the 16 to 18 age group.
The Junior section of the Indoor Club now has around 30 members and the Club is inviting any young persons interested in learning to play, to contact the Club at Port Glasgow Road.
The Inverclyde Senior Fours Champions rink of Tom Forbes, Jimmy Bradley, Ian Loughran & Alistair Black, have won through to the Scottish Finals to be played at Richard Corsie's Indoor Stadium. Well done!!!  I hope to be able to travel through to these finals and will report on how they get on.
I got an e-mail today commenting on the lack of updates on the site recently, so i thought i would just let you all know what my plans are for during the close Season. As most of you who know me will understand, this site is run entirely by myself and takes up around 2 hours a day during the summer months to constantly update, so I hope you will understand that when it comes to around this time of the year I take a well earned rest for around 3 months. The only updates I will regulary do are the Quiz Page and any news articles I find, that I think are of interest. I would love to have the time to cover all the results from the Indoor Leagues etc, but i quite simply dont have the time!
From around January, its time to start preparing the site for next season's bowling, a year which will be Gourock Park's 75th Anniversary, so I want to do my best to make sure the site continues to give you a first class service.
On the subject of our 75th, i am looking for as much info about the Club as possible, so if anyone has any old photos, stories to tell, greatest memories etc? then please get in touch.

Finally, I just wish to thank everyone who has helped make this yet another successful year for the site, the Committee at Gourock Park, John Freeburn, Willie Quigley, Norma Ramsay, the Sponsors and everyone who visits the site. Thanks to you all.
