Congratulations to Gourock Park's Fours who won the Greenock and District by beating Lady Alice in the Final. The District Singles Championship was won by Kilmacolm's Violet Simpson, runner up was Anna Seggie from Fort Matilda. The Pairs Title went to Agnes Gray and Nan Black of Hillend who defeated Liz Mc Lellan and Mary Boyd from Gourock. Hillend made it a double success when their 'Triples' claimed victory over Lady Alice. The Hillend Trio were, Margaret Arkley, Janette Ferguson and Margaret Boyce. The Lady Alice triples were Nan Hair, Sandra Munro and Joan Allan. Two Bowl Pairs Title went too Ardgowan's Ena Herron and Jess Conway who overcame Greta Cameron and Jenny Currie from Lady Alice. The Greenock & District League Champions are Lady Alice followed by Port Glasgow in the Runner-up place. My apologies for not being able to cover as much of the Ladies events as i would have liked to, this is simply due to the lack of available time due to shift work with my employers. |
