There was never much in the game and going into the last end,Willie and Gary were two shots up. After Jackie and Willie and played,Jackie was lying 3 matchwinning shots. Robert Grant jokingly said "Well done lads,hard luck 3 shots to us,game over" Gary needless to say never bit the bait! and with his 1st bowl reduced the deficit to 2 shots. Robert tried to increase the shot count back to 3 but was unlucky in doing so. It was all down to the last bowl of the end. As it stood with Jackie and Robert lying 2 shots,the game would have went to an extra end if Gary could not reduce it to one shot. Gary then produced the finest shot of the night,delivering an inch perfect bowl not only to reduce the shots count,but to get the shot itself and win the match by 14 shots to 11shots.
