75 Years of Bowling at Gourock Park 1928 -2003

The Club celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 1978 and this turned out to be one of the most successful years in the Club. The Gents section won the Greenock & District League and also the Reid Cup and J.S.Thompson Shield. The Ladies made it a double celebration by winning their District League and they also claimed victory in the G&D Ladies Singles ( Mrs Margaret Tosh) and the Council Cup Pairs ( Mrs Hagen & Mrs McLellan.                                                                                                                 To mark this year, the club held a Gents versus Ladies Wapinshaw. The respective highest-up rinks that day were- Mrs J Donnachie, Mrs M Muir, Mrs Wrightman and Miss M Hannah and for the gents-- D Turner, M Murray, S Hagen and W Chantry.
