There have been a few times at Gourock Park when the Son has followed in his Father's footsteps at the Club and both served as proud Presidents of 'The Park'.
One of Gourock Park's longest serving members, John Hagen, was one of these. John's father, Sam, was the President of the club in 1982 and exactly ten years later in 1992, John or 'Big Haggie' as he is commonly known as by most of his fellow members, was delighted to serve as President of the Club.
John's Mum, Margaret, was one of a few privledged people to have been given the honour of rolling the first Bowl of a new season on two occasions. Sadly both Sam and Margaret have moved on to play their bowls at a Bowling Green on a higher plain now, but they will always be fondly remembered at Gourock Park.
Below there are pictures of both of the above opening days as well as some others taken over years.
