30th May 2001 Past President Dougie Brown is going into Hospital next week for a Triple Bypass operation.Wishing you all the best Dougie and hope its not long before you are back on the green playing again May 28th 2001 Lady Alice BC Championship Results now included on this Site The Pairs and Triples and Seniors from Gourock Park have made it through to the 3rd Round of the Renfrewshire Championships,our Singles and Fours lost in the 2nd Round May 24th 2001 The Full SBA District 23 Draw has now been placed on the site May 20th 2001 Gourock Park's Rink,Triples,Seniors and Pairs have reached the 2nd round of the R.B.A Site Message Board So far the Message Board on this site has not been used as much as i had hoped for! The board is the ideal way of allowing your fellow bowlers know what is happening at your Club,championship shocks,upsets,news,gossip in fact just about anything to do with the game we all play and enjoy. This is the only Bowling Website in the Inverclyde area and more and more local bowlers are accessing this site on a weekly basis and this will increase as more people join in with the Internet age. So,What are you waiting for ? Use the Message Board now please!!!!! May 15th 2001 The Stonehouse friendly page has been updated with news from the day and photos. The IBM Championship Singles Draw is now available on this site,shortly Lady Alice Championship Singles will be available too. The Gourock Park Ladies Championship has been added to the site. May 14th 2001 The Draws and Results from IBM and Lady Alice Bowling Clubs Championship Singles will be added to this site shortly,and will be up-dated once a week. Thanks to Jimmy Bradley and Robert Harron (IBM) and Graham Paterick(Lady Alice) for their help with this. I am prepared to take on just one more Clubs results this season,so if you want your Club's Championship Results included?then get in touch asap!!. Once I see how much more of my time this takes up I will maybe consider more for next year. However it will always be possible for anyone from any Club with access to the web to post any results,info and news on to this sites Message Board!! The Link for this is on the main contents page and requires no registration.. Further to this I know it is possible for me to build a page or pages for any of our local Clubs and allow access to each of those pages to anyone who wishes to keep their own Clubs pages updated.I will be looking into this during the close season and getting back to you all about this! May 11th 2001 Both Gourock Park's "Rink" and "Triples" had good victories in the Prelims of The Refrewshire B.A Championships. May 9th 2001 Last years beaten Championship finalist,Tommy Docherty suffered an early exit today.Tommy was convincingly defeated by 21 shots to 5 by Jim McCready My apologies are due for my earlier incorrect report about Robert Grant skipping a triples to victory in The Fairlie Open Triples.It was Iain Boyd who skipped and not Robert, Robert played lead. I have corrected my mistake below. Sorry Lads!!!! Gary Bradley May 7th 2001 The Prelims of both The Championship and The Presidents Singles are now underway and the latest results have been posted,including a early defeat for Robert Grant and a massive victory for Robert Hughes May 6th 2001 Robert Grant was a member of the triples that won the Fairlie Open Triples on Sunday,Robert played lead,2nd was Robert MacPherson (West Kilbride) and the skip was Iain Boyd (Hawkshill) May 3rd 2001 5 Times Gourock Park Champion,David Rollo has had to withdraw from this years championship on medical grounds. May 1st 2001 President Dougie Twaddle got his year of Presidency of to a good start when his Team came out tops in the Annual Presidents versus Vice Presidents Wapinshaw. The Shots total was 60 shots to 48 shots in Dougie's favour. The highest up Rink was a triples skipped by Archie Forbes along with Jim Cameron and J.O Brian (7 up) Archie's 2nd Success so far this season! He also won the opening day Wapinshaw. So far only IBM have agreed to submit Championship results and other info to be placed on this Site! I was hoping for a better response. There is still time if you want your Club included,get in touch with me as soon as possible please. The Ladies Championship draw has been made and will be available shortly.This year the ladies section of this site should include more news,results thanks to the wonderful Norma Ramsay,who has promised to collect the info for me.
