29th July 2002 Congratulations to Grant Ramsay on winning the Club Championship at Blackhall BC in Edinburgh in his year of Presidency at the Edinburgh Club where he now lives and works. Well Done !!!!
The Davidson Trophy results and pictures will be on the Site as soon as I can.
25th July 2002 Rodger Lynn is chasing the 'Double' at Gourock Park after reaching the Final of both The Club Championship and The Presidents Singles.
The Tate and Lyle Friendly will take place at Gourock Park on the 16th of August. Any Gourock Park players who wish to play should add their name to the sheet on the notice board.
Only one game remaining in the League and it looks very much like Port Glasgow will be crowned Champions once again. The Port are 7 points clear of Wellington and look odds on to retain the title. The chasing Club, Wellington must hope that Grosvenor (A) can inflict a hefty defeat on Port Glasgow next tuesday and they themselves score highly against Gourock Park, who have had a great end to the league season with 22pts from a possible 24pts in the last two games played and I know we would love to finish in the top four. In Section 2, Fort Matilda have slipped a bit and now face a nail biting final game against Ardgowan next week. Gourock are finishing strongly and must fancy their chances against Birkmyre in the last game, having already inflicted a 10pts to 2pts defeat on them earlier in the season. Parklea, for so long also in the race for promotion look to have lost their chance and must score heavily in the final game and hope results elsewhere go in their favour.
21st July 2002 Gourock BC's Raymond Swankie lost in the Second Round of the SBA National Junior Singles at Ayr, Raymond went down narrowly by 21 shots to 20. Bogleha's Mick Le Revert lost in the first round, the Pairs lost in the Second and the Triples reached the last eight. I have no idea at this time, how Port Glasgow's Rink got on.
20th July 2002 Well done to Grosvenor's Alan Bradley who today won The Largs Open Singles for the third time. Alan defeated G Templeton of Troon BC in today's Final at Fairlie by 21 shots to 17
19th July 2002 Alan Bradley defeated K Watters of Cambuslang BC, 21 v 13 in todays Semi-Final of the Largs Open Singles. Alan will now play G Templeton of Troon BC in tomorrow's Final at Fairlie BC at 2pm.
18th July 2002 Gourock's Raymond Swankie has won his first game down at Ayr in The Scottish Junior Singles. I have no idea how any of the other local players got on! If you can help? Please get in touch. The Official SBA site has no results at all on its Site.
Alan Bradley of Grosvenor has won through to the Semi-final of The Largs Open.
16th July 2002 The Greenock & District leagues got back underway tonight and Gourock Park have taken a giant step towards saving our Section 1 status with a 12pt victory over our neighbours Gourock. Full results should be on the Site by around 10.30pm tomorrow .

July 2nd 2002 Hello and welcome to Summer!!!! Well i wish I could say that, its now 3 months in to the Summer Season and it seems that all we are going to get is rain, rain and more rain! So much for the supposed Global warming effect!!! Anyway I hope you are all enjoying following the progress of the Site during the course of the outdoor season? I am delighted with the ever improving visitor count to the site, it just seems to get stronger and stronger with each passing year and long may this continue.( the figure for June was taken two weeks ago! another 200 viewed the site after that) I wish to thank everyone who visits the site, without you it would not be worthwhile to keep the site going! I also wish to thank the Committee at Gourock Park for their continued support in keeping the Site alive, even though the hosting charges have just went up by a whopping 300% recently when 'Homestead' upgraded all their packages.
Speaking of upgrades, if any of you are having problems viewing the site just now , i apologise! I am having them too! Since the recent upgrade by 'Hometead' i have had a few teething problems updating the site and at one point it looked as if the entire site had been deleted!!! A few choice words rang out that night!!!! Anyway I am sure all these bugs will settle down and get back to normal soon. May i just remind you all that as updates during the summer are usually daily, its best to reload the site a few times to make sure you are seeing the most recent page changes. I have noticed from my visitor stats, that a few of you still view the site using 'Netscape' and you have most likely noticed that some pages do not appear as they are supposed too? Well! All i can do is apolgise to you for this and suggest that you change to using Internet Explorer, as this is what the site was designed for and at a screen size of 800 x 600.
If you have any suggestions, news, complaints, viewing problems etc ? Then please let me know by submitting them in the box below.
